Fossil Project

Fossil Fact Book Project

701, 702 & 703  Science

Due  Friday, Dec 6th

You will be creating a Fossil Fact Book.  The book will be 2 pages folded over, so as to be divided into 3 sections.  Mr. Halpern will show you how to fold the pages.  The book must have  pictures that must be printed and not drawn!

The sections are titled:

How are  fossils formed  & how can you find the age of a fossil?

A specific fossil discovery that interests me….

 Other fossil  fun facts

Each section can be typed or hand written.  Pictures should be placed throughout the book to enhance the topic.  Be sure to use your own words.  I am interested in your knowledge of the subject.

The front cover must say the title “Fossil Fact Book”, along with your name and class as well as a picture

The back cover of the fact book must have a “Glossary”.  On this page you must have at least 5 words that you came across during your research along with their definitions as well as a “Bibliography” demonstrating at least 3 sources that you used to find information.  Keep in mind that “Wikipedia”  is not an acceptable source since it can be altered.

This project should be neat, pretty and an example of your best work.  Pay careful attention to spelling and grammar.

You will be graded on:

following the appropriate format

content

demonstration of knowledge

effort

demonstration of interest

glossary

bibliography

neatness

spelling and grammar

Should you choose to hand in your booklet on Monday, Dec. 2, you will qualify for 10 pts extra credit  or Tuesday, Dec. 3, 5 pts extra credit on this assignment.    There is no extra credit for Thursday, Dec 5.
